PJ vs CRO To use your degree or not
Brett is an outdoor and hockey enthusiast with a degree in biochem, who is trying to decide between going Combat Rescue Officer or Pararescue (enlisted). There is certainly pressure from everyone around him and from himself to join as an officer due to his degree. He is looking for a little more clarification on what each job entails before he makes his decision. This is an individual who is extremely driven as evidenced by his previous accomplishments.
The choice between the more hands-on job of a Pararescueman and the strategic command of a Combat Rescue Officer is one that I have discussed many times with people throughout the many consultations I have done. The biggest factors we talk...

This just showed up on my feed, as a lot of pj stuff has been since I saw TFE's video about them. When I was little, I always wanted to join the military, and I wanted to be a Marine. Now, I sadly can't join, since I've been diagnosed with autism. If I were able to, though... I wouldn't want to be a marine anymore. I would want to be a PJ. The PJ creed just resonates with me. I don't care about being known. Always thought Combat would be fun, but... The idea of saving lives is so much better. Much respect to you Pj's out there.

Hey Brian! Currently considering training to be a PJ. Wife is onboard, but we are both a little nervous about time with kids. We have 3 and another on the way. I understand the Pipeline pretty well, but not sure about the actual job. Is it basically NO DAD AROUND ever or do you get to be around for most of the time that you are not deployed? Thanks for your videos! If I decide to go I'll buy your training stuff!

I'm going into college (health science major) this fall and am doing AFROTC when I get there. Being a PJ is something that sounds just absolutely incredible to me I can't think of anything I'd like to do more. My problem is once I graduate I would be an officer but CRO doesn't appeal to me nearly as much as PJ. Is it stupid to go through AFROTC and then give up officer to be a PJ. I think I should go to college but am I just wasting my time? idk if It's smart to "derail" my life if you will and just drop out to enlist. Could you provide some insight please and thank you.

You will need to go through CRO phase 2 which is a short kick in the ballz selection again then go through the CRO apprentice course but overall less time than becoming a PJ since you will not have to go through all the ancillary schools like airborne dive etc.

The truth is you could take it easy and get by but the most successful people will apply similar focus as they did in selection while they are at schools in the pipeline and make the mistakes while they are there to become the best they can be. I am currently trying to figure out what I want to do with my life. Ever since I was a little girl, I have always been drawn to helping people, but I've also always been drawn to the military. I am in high school right now, and ever since I have heard about pararescue I have been intrigued to say the least. And I truly want to join and become one, but I am not sure how to prepare myself. Everyone I have talked to seems to say it is okay and all, but they've never experienced it personally. But for whatever reason, I want to have all the information I possible can about becoming a PJ. But I am also a little scared that I might not be enough. I don't even know why I am here typing this. But still either way I will try my absolute hardest, I'd rather try my hardest and get told no, than to be scared and never take the chance.
